Manchester Boys Youth Basketball Clinics 2019-2020
Head Varsity Basketball Coach Mike Ahrens and his staff at Manchester High School are proud to announce their YOUTH BOYS Basketball Clinics starting up Saturday, December 7.
“The clinics are designed not only to introduce the game of basketball, but also teach fundamentals that are essential to develop as an all-around player,” said Ahrens. “This youth program will monitor player development and provide individual instruction. The Manchester youth coach, Jake LaCross, will direct the clinic, assisted with a staff of coaches and varsity players.”
The format for the clinics will consist of teaching and learning fundamentals, progressing into competitive drills in a station format. Offensive and defensive play will build up starting with 1vs1, 2vs2, up to 5vs5 play. The final clinic, January 25th, players will be broken into teams and play a double-elimination tournament.
The clinics will begin on Saturdays at the Riverside Intermediate School gym, running from December 7th, December 14th (held at Manchester High School gym this date only!) January 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th. Session (1) for 5th and 6th grades will be held from 9:00 – 10:30 am. Session (2) for 3rd and 4th grades, will be held from 10:30 am – Noon.

It is encouraged that you send in the attached registration and check prior to December 2nd to be assured a t-shirt. Walk ups on the first day of clinic are welcome; however, the registration fee will be $75.
Important Notes:
- 3rd & 4th graders should bring their own small ball if possible (Junior – 27.5 or Women’s Ball – 28.5 in.).
- Must have basketball shoes and shorts.
- Be prompt: Clinic Session 1 starts at 9 am and Session 2 starts at 10:30 am.
