Fegan: “no news” on Superintendent

School board president Chris Fegan reported this weekend that there is “no update” as yet on the possible departure of Superintendent Nick Steinmetz, who received an offer for a similar position last week from the Madison School District in Lenawee County.

Fegan indicated that the school board is “working like heck to keep (Steinmetz)” in the district, but as of the end of last week there had been no progress to report on the status of the conversation. She also said that Steinmetz had not yet accepted the job in Madison at that time.

A short, two-day school week due to the Thanksgiving holiday may have left little time for Fegan and Steinmetz to have a serious discussion about his future with Manchester Community Schools.
