Police blotter for November 2019
Noteworthy events in Manchester Village during the month of November include:
- On November 1, deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of E. Main Street for a check fraud. The business owner discovered that two business checks were created and cashed on their business account. The owner had two suspects, one being a 21-year-old female from Detroit. The investigation is ongoing and will be sent to the Washtenaw County Prosecutors Office.
- On November 7, deputies conducted a traffic stop at Main and Clinton Streets for speed. Upon identifying the driver, it was discovered she had a warrant for her arrest for contempt of court. The 21-year-old Jackson City resident was arrested and transported to M-52/1-94, where she was turned over to Blackman Township officers.
- On November 7, Deputies responded to the 100 block of Hibbard Street to locate a 28-year-old Manchester Village resident who had a felony warrant for dangerous drugs. The female subject was arrested and transported to Van Buren Township Police Department.
- On November 9, deputies responded to the 20000 block of Dutch Drive for a Malicious Destruction of Property complaint. A student had his tires slashed the day before while his vehicle was parked in the school lot. Suspects are currently unknown.
- On November 13, Sgt. Gieske collected 13.3 pounds of medication, which was taken out of the Red Barrel at 912 City Road. The medication has been turned over to the evidence room for destruction.
- On November 13, the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office Police Service Dog Unit conducted a canine search of Manchester High School. The request was made through the principal. No areas of interest were made by the canines for further investigation.
- On November 14, Sergeants Rush and Gieske conducted an Active Aggressor training for the Manchester Village and Library staff. There were approximately 10 staff members present for the training.
- On November 19, Lieutenant Flores conducted an Active Aggressor training for the Martinrea Company. Approximately 40 staff members were present for the training.
- Deputies investigated 15 Ordinance Violations during the month of November. There were 154 calls for service (including traffic stops). Deputies conducted 63 traffic stops during this time with 56 citations issued.
