Manchester folks really like their breakfasts. And now there’s a new place in town to try–the Manchester Diner at 108 Adrian Street. You’ll find many new faces at the Diner, but there are also some things that have not changed:

They still serve great meals at breakfast and lunch times.

They still have prompt and friendly service, in the same cozy atmosphere.

The portions are still generous.

And it’s still locally owned.

Nathan Shire, the owner and chef, grew up in Westland and moved to Manchester 10+ years ago. He was a sous chef at Fillmore Bar & Grill in Dexter, but the hours were difficult and he always knew he’d want to go out on his own at some point. He’d been looking for an opportunity and when he found the former Kellie’s for sale here in his adopted hometown, he realized this was just what he needed.

“It just kind of dropped in my lap. I like the short-order aspect and the fast pace,” he said. “It’s a lot different than what I did before, but I’m enjoying it.”

He’s also bringing some of his fine-dining experience to the small-town diner. The Diner serves freshly house-made jams; freshly ground house-made sausages, homemade biscuits daily, and home-cooked specials each day in addition to the regular menu items.

“Our goal is to make great meals from scratch at a decent price,” he added. “We think we have the best food in town!”

The diner has been busier than they anticipated the first week or so, which is a good thing. It’s also got the entire family involved, whether washing dishes, bussing tables, or turning on the air conditioner during the unexpected and unseasonably warm morning on Saturday!

Stop in and visit the Manchester Diner from 8 am to 2 pm Wednesday through Sunday.

Breakfast (and lunch) burritos, made with house-made chorizo sausage, provide a new creative touch to the menu at Manchester Diner.
