February 2, 2020

Dear Manchester residents,

My dog was recently attacked and injured within the village limits. This is a reminder to my fellow community members that there is a leash law in our village.

This is what owners of unleashed dogs say to me when their dog approaches my dog.
“He’s friendly.”
“Don’t worry, he won’t hurt you.”
“He’s never done that before. ”
“Sorry.”

These are reasons I am going to give you when I report your unleashed dog to the authorities.
-visual memory of dog attack
-$600+ vet bill
-missed work
-ongoing stress from this event

Respectfully creating a safer community,
Suzanne Birgy
