Mother Nature is such a tease. She gives us a little taste of spring then hits us with a blizzard. But there’s no denying it, spring is on the way, and at the Clinton Township Public Library, we have some exciting events to keep you busy while you wait for spring to make its final (and much anticipated) arrival.

As always, our monthly book-sale will be held on the first Saturday, this month on March 7th from 10 am to 2 pm. The following Saturday, March 14th (aka Pi Day), we have a fun-filled, family-friendly event planned, Puppies and Pi(e) starting at 11 am. As the title suggests, there will be puppies (thanks to the Lenawee County Humane Society) and pie. Delicious pie and adorable puppies … does it get any better than that?! The fourth Saturday, March 28th at 11 am, we encourage all Dog Man fans, young and young-at-heart alike, to join us for crafts, snacks, and Dog-Man-inspired fun at our Dog Man Party.

Of course, our regular programs continue in March as well. For our youngest patrons, we have Infant/Toddler Storytime every Thursday at 11:30. Bring in your little bundle of joy for songs, music, dancing, and stories. For the preschoolers, our weekly storytimes are every Wednesday at 11:30. In addition to the weekly storytimes, we will continue to offer our once-a-month Sensory Tuesday on March 3rd at 11:30 and Music Monday on March 9th at 11:30.

For our elementary age students, we have book clubs and seasonal crafts this month. On March 9th, our 1st-4th grade book club meets to talk about the March book selection, “The Chocolate Touch,” by Patrick Skene Catling. As always, there will be snacks and activities based on the book. Copies of the April selection, “Looniverse: Stranger Things” by David Lubar, will be available to pick up following the meeting. The following Monday, (March 16th) we have our seasonal craft, Leprechaun Traps. The K-1st grade book club meets on March 23 at 4 pm. The children will be reading books like “The Kiss Box” by Bonnie Verburg, “The Wolf Will Not Come” by Myriam Ouyessad, and “The Big Race” by David Barrow. We will also have snacks, and children can vote for their favorite book.

For our adult patrons, we have our monthly book club on March 12th where we will be discussing the March book selection, “The List” by Robert Whitlow. Copies of April’s selection, “Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens, will be available for pickup following the meeting. The After-Hours book club will be discussing, “Watch Us Rise” by Ellen Hagan and Renee Watson. April’s selection is “Brown Girl Dreaming” by Jacqueline Woodson. We also will have weekly knitting/crochet group, Tangled Yarn, Tuesdays at 11:30 and quilting classes Tuesdays at 6:00 pm (please contact the library for a list of recommended supplies). Lastly, we will have our monthly Library Board Meeting on March 16th at 7:00.

With puppies, pie, book clubs, parties, crafts … and, of course, plenty of great new books and movies, the Clinton Township Public Library is committed to providing our community members with the services, events, and resources they need to live their very best lives. Come in and learn, explore, and discover!
