Manchester bands perform well at band festival
Manchester High School hosted our region’s MSBOA District Band and Orchestra Festival on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Manchester High School Concert Band competed on Thursday and earned a second-division rating. The 7th & 8th grade band competed on Friday and earned a first-division rating, meaning they will advance on to compete at States.
Band director Jared Throneberry stated, “This is the fourth year in a row that Manchester has had a band qualify for State Band and Orchestra Festival. We will also be hosting this event at the Jr./Sr. High School on Thursday, April 23, Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25. We do not yet know when the 7th &8th grade Band will be performing. As soon as we find out, we will make that information available to the public.”
Throneberry continued, “I am very proud of the hard work these student musicians have put forth and their dedication to learning through music. It is truly an honor to work with these students every day.”
