The Manchester Junior/Senior High School “SRSLY? Check in with Us” program meets on the first Thursday of each month.
Did you know? According to the Michigan Profile for Healthy Youth (MiPHY 2018), 95 percent of Manchester High School Students have not abused prescription drugs in the past 30 days; and 94 percent of Manchester Middle School Students have not abused prescription drugs during the past 30 days.
Did you know? One in nine youth, or 11.4 percent of young adults ages 12-25, abused prescription drugs within the past year. (National Survey on Drug Use and Health – NSDUH 2010). Every day, approximately 2,500 youth age 12-17 years old abuse a prescription painkiller for the first time. (Office of National Drug Control Policy). Approximately six out of 10 teens agree that prescription drugs are easy to get from parents’ medicine cabinets (The Partnership for a Drug-Free America).
Ask Your Family: When you look at high school seniors nationally, we see that after vaping, alcohol and marijuana, prescription and over-the-counter medications account for most of the commonly abused drugs. (NSDUH 2010)

your local sheriff’s office as a way to reduce access to drugs in one’s home.
