Laid-off or hours cut back due to COVID-19? The CRC is ready to help!

The Manchester Community Resource Center is preparing to help community members with the economic repercussions that will accompany measures put in place to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Many Manchester area residents will feel the economic impact of the closures and lack of business due to social isolating during the COVID-19 pandemic, if they are not already. This may mean loss of a regular paycheck or even total loss of employment. The Manchester Community Resource Center (CRC) will help everyone in need of food during this time – no matter their regular income or place of residency. They will also do their best to help people access temporary benefits or financial assistance.
The CRC food pantry has a USDA list of foods that are available to anyone experiencing an emergency, regardless of where they live or how much money they make as long as supplies hold out. If you need food or help, call the CRC office at 734-428-7722 or text 734-433-6707 or email info@manchestercrc.org. When the CRC is closed, bags of emergency food are available for pick-up at the Manchester Winter Farmers Market and the Manchester District Library during their open hours.
The Manchester Community Resource Center remains open but is currently operating operate on a “by appointment only” basis. This means both established clients and those seeking emergency food or assistance will have to call the office at 734-428-7722 or text 734-433-6707 or email info@manchestercrc.org to schedule an appointment. Appointments are now needed to pick up groceries from the food pantry, pick-up Weekend Kid Meal bags, drop off documents for MIBridges applications/redeterminations or VITA tax preparation, or interact in-person with CRC staff.
Many CRC volunteers are in an at-risk category and are taking time off. Temporary volunteers are needed to help bag food items, pick up food from grocery stores and/or deliver food to clients. If you are able to volunteer please call, text or email the CRC.
The CRC will gratefully continue to accept donations of food and personal hygiene products. Please call, text, or email to set up a time to drop off your donation. Monetary donations can be made on their website http://manchestercrc.org or mailed to Manchester Community Resource Center, PO Box 433, Manchester, MI 48158. Donors may specify what they would like their financial donations to be used for.
