What to do if you don’t receive census info in the mail

Manchester residents should have by now received their census information in the mail. For Bridgewater, Freedom and Sharon Township residents, this should be a paper form to fill out and return. For Manchester Township residents, including Village residents, this should be a postcard inviting you to complete the census online or by phone. But, because the census is tied to a physical address, Village residents who live near the post office and don’t receive mail delivery but instead have mandatory post office boxes, will most likely not get their census information in the mail.

Good news. Those residents, and anyone who hasn’t received their census information for any reason, can still respond to the census online or by phone. Visit https://my2020census.gov. When it asks for you your “Census ID” there will be a link that states “If you do not have a Census ID, click here.” Click that and you will be prompted to enter your street address, and then you will be able to complete the census. It takes less 10 minutes to complete.

Those who do not participate in the census online will have a census-taker come to your home to ask the questions in person.

If you have any questions about responding to the 2020 Census or if you would prefer to complete the census over the phone, call 844-330-2020 any day of the week, from 7 am to 2 am.

If you haven’t received a census ID in the mail, you can still complete the census online. You will just need to fill out your street address.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
