As of April 20, the plans for the 2020 Manchester Community Fair are still moving forward. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work through all of the continually changing regulations and information.

This year’s fair dates have moved to August 18-22, kicking off on Tuesday with the annual Fair Parade at 6:30 pm. This year brings a new derby company to the fair along with new rodeo events and this year marks the 50th year for tractor pulls. Currently, we are working on some special events to observe that on Saturday night.

Just before school was out on March 13, the high school freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior classes each voted for three girls to represent their class in the fair queen contest to be held on August 18 immediately after the parade. In the past, the school has announced the winners, but with this uncertain time we are experiencing now, we would like to announce the contestants:

  • The class of 2020 candidates are Mary Bradshaw, Delaney Bross, and Maddie Harris.
  • The class of 2021 candidates are Katelyn Blumenauer, Kayla Ridenour, and Victoria Woods.
  • The class of 2022 candidates include Addie Hiller, Morgan Lutton, and Mia Steele.
  • The class of 2023 candidates are Anna Amburgey, Marlena Ballnik, and Grace Helmke.

Watch for additional information on the fair’s Facebook page, which is “Manchester Community Fair.” Please check there or the fair’s website, Manchesterfair.org for any new information about the current situation and what and how we are going about planning this year’s fair.

Myself and the entire fair board hope that you and your families are staying safe and well through our current situation and hopefully we will see everyone soon at an upcoming Manchester event.
