Robert Ralph Laskowski (1939 – 2020)

Robert “Bob” Ralph Laskowski passed away April 28, 2020 at the age of 80. Bob was born on November 27, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio to Theodore and Ruth (Knechtle) Laskowski. He met and fell in love with Sarah Huber in 1968 and married her just months after meeting. They were married for 51 wonderful years at the time of his passing. Bob was proud of his service to his country as a Staff Sargent in the United States Air Force where he worked on some of the first flight simulators. As a computer engineer, Bob concluded his career working at MedImage for over 20 years. He was known as “MacGyver” to friends and family for his tinkering and inventions that ranged from the circuit that spawned the Domino’s Pizza “Heat Wave” to toys for his grandchildren. Bob loved being outside and working in his barn. He was deeply devoted to his faith and was a member of the St. Mary’s parish for 45 years.

Bob will be remembered for his handsome smile, his jokes and sense of humor, for making suspenders always look in fashion, his love of classical music, for always willing to help others, and convincing his son that he was a real life superhero. He was deeply loved by his friends and family and will be greatly missed.

Bob is survived by his wife, Sarah; son Matthew, daughter in law Nicole; grandsons Jonathan and Peter; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister Jean, brothers Donald and James.

Bob’s family held a private viewing at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manchester with his interment at St. Mary Roman Catholic Cemetery. His public Farewell will be held at a later date to be determined.  Fr. Bosco Padamattummal will serve as celebrant. There will also be a public visitation from 10:00 am – 11:00 am on Friday, May 1 a St. Mary parish, however due to the COVID-19 restrictions the number of people in the church at a time will be limited to follow social distancing guidelines.
