High School Guidance Counselor Hollie Kolcz reported on Friday, May 15, that the graduation ceremony originally planned for May 31, has been postponed until mid-June.

“This letter was sent out to parents from Mr. McCalla this morning,” she said.

As much as we would have loved to hold a traditional graduation ceremony on May 31st, we just are not able to do so. We have had many, many suggestions on how to best honor the Class of 2020 and we have taken them all into consideration.

We are now moving on to our next plan with an outdoor, in-person graduation ceremony on Friday, June 19th at 5 pm. The details are being worked out and you will get more information in the following weeks. In addition to honoring the graduates, we are working hard to abide by the social distancing guidelines in order to keep our seniors and their parents safe.

In his Facebook Live talk on May 13, interim superintendent Scot Graden talked about the process for making the decision about graduation and indicated that McCalla and Kolcz were working hard to make it a meaningful event for students and parents.
