Last Monday and Tuesday evenings, the Manchester Community Schools Board of Education interviewed four candidates for the position of superintendent. They selected two finalists, Eric McCalla, currently the principal of Manchester Jr/Sr High School and Brad Bezeau, currently principal of Saline Middle School. The meetings were held virtually over Zoom and open to the public. Interim superintendent Scot Graden stated that next round of interviews will be held on June 1st at 6:00 pm and that the format and location will be announced soon.

Videos of each candidate are available to watch here or by following a link on the School District’s main page.

Graden is the superintendent of Saline Area Schools, and was hired in April to also serve as Manchester’s interim superintendent while the search for permanent superintendent is carried out. Graden replaced Kevin Upton, who was originally hired as interim superintendent through June 30, when Nick Steinmetz left to become superintendent of Madison Schools in Adrian on January 1 of this year.
