A previous year’s fireworks brought to you by the Manchester Mens Club.

The Manchester Mens Club announced last week on social media that they were canceling this year’s Independence Day Fireworks. The fireworks, held in Carr Park, are usually set off on July 3rd with July 4th as a rain date and the event draws thousands of visitors from all around the area.

The Mens Club collects donations at the park’s entrance and in recent years has operated a beer tent in order to collect enough to put the fireworks on the following year. In their post they state, “We are disappointed it came to this, but feel this is the best decision for both the community and the club. We look forward to making our 2021 show the biggest yet!”

Mens Club members said they had discussed “a lot of options,” but are waiting to see how things play out.
