Acorn Farmers Market will host Fairy Door/Garden contest

Create your own front yard fairy garden, provide some social-distancing fun for the community … and maybe even win a prize.

With so many events being canceled in our community this year, for understandable reasons, volunteers at Acorn Farmers Market thought it might be fun to add some “social distancing excitement” to the community, so the farmers market is planning to host a fairy door/fairy garden contest.

Participants will create a fairy door and/or garden that is displayed in your front yard, and help to create a Fairy Walk for the Manchester community. Once you’ve created your fairy display, submit your address to farmersmarket48158@gmail.com.

A list will be created for the community to go on a Fairy Walk to view all of the fairy doors and gardens throughout town, and a panel of judges will view all of the gardens and will vote on first, second, and third-place winners.

First place will receive a $20 Acorn Farmers Market certificate; second place will receive a $15 Acorn Farmers Market certificate; and third place will receive a $10 Acorn Farmers Market certificate!

The deadline for contest submissions is Thursday, July 9, and winners will be announced Saturday, July 11. Follow Manchester Michigan Farmers Market on Facebook for more Fairy Door and Garden ideas, and have a “Fairy Fun” time creating your own fairy displays!

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
