Westbound Situation visits gazebo and more for “neighborhood” live concerts
The gazebo in downtown Manchester, the Blacksmith Shop on East Main, and the residential areas of Manchester Woods and Riverbend Drive were the sites of impromptu “neighborhood concerts” on Sunday.
The concerts on Father’s Day were well-received, especially by the residents of the Wildwood Condos who came out with lawn chairs and masks to enjoy the concert from their driveways. Both the residents of Riverbend and Wildwood requested a return Neighborhood Concert next month, when Riverfolk plans to bring Mr. B to more Manchester neighborhoods with his famous “Joybox Express” piano bike.
Proceeds collected on the Riverfolk website donation portal are used to compensate the visiting musicians. If your neighborhood would like to host a concert, please contact Riverfolk at riverfolkmusicandarts@gmail.
Additional support for this series and the weekly Thursday evening “Live from Riverfolk” online series has been provided by Arts Midwest in collaboration with Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs for the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs Emergency Relief Fund, made possible by the National Endowment for the Arts Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act.
