Manchester’s Acorn Farmers Market is hosting a fairy door/garden contest and it’s time to get planning.

There are many ways to create a Fairy Garden. They don’t all involve lots of time, thought, or money. Sometimes, all it takes is a few creative juices!

Use everyday household items to create your garden–a broken tea cup or tea pot, turned upside down, could be just what you’re looking for. Do you have a candle holder that you don’t use? It could make a great decoration for your fairy garden. All those knickknacks you have lying around gathering dust could make perfect fairy garden accessories.

The possibilities are endless … Fairies, as you know, are very resourceful. Almost anything six inches and under could be used to help them make the perfect fairy home for your yard or garden.

Once you’ve created your fairy display, submit your address to farmersmarket48158@gmail.com. A list will be provided for the community to go on a Fairy Walk to view all of the fairy doors and gardens throughout town, and a panel of judges will view all of the gardens and will vote on first, second, and third-place winners.

First place will receive a $20 Acorn Farmers Market certificate; second place will receive a $15 Acorn Farmers Market certificate; and third place will receive a $10 Acorn Farmers Market certificate!

The deadline for contest submissions is Thursday, July 9, and winners will be announced Saturday, July 11. Join the fun!
