Some of the fairy events as seen throughout last week during the “Virtual Fairy Festival” coordinated by Acorn Farmers Market.

What a fun, fairy-filled week the Virtual Fairy Festival was!” says Laura Wohlgemuth, who has headed up the Manchester Farmers Market and its weekly events for the past couple of years. “We really miss seeing everyone at The Manchester Farmers Market and the camaraderie of the weekly events.

“We truly have the BEST customers and the most wonderful vendors. The Manchester Farmers Market wasn’t just a Farmers Market, it was family.”And yet, she is highly thankful that Acorn Farmers’ Market has stepped up and is providing such a great variety of fresh, local food to our community. So, organizing a Virtual Fairy Festival was a way this year that Laura and others could connect with vendors on a different level and add some love and whimsy to this summer!

Laura, along with Polly the Pug Fairy, started the Festival Week off with Alexis The Fairy Expert sharing her knowledge of the fairies and what one can do to make them comfortable and happy in a fairy garden. The Lavender Fairy shared her secrets to her personal fairy garden on Tuesday, and Flower Fairy Andi shared her flower garden and Flower Fairy Poems written and illustrated by Cicely Mary Barker.

On Thursday, Farmer Fairy Rebekah shared a tour of the chickens, goats, and delicious micro greens at DeWaard Family Farm, and Fairy Friends ended the week with Virtual Fairy Festival Finale Friday. This included traditional Fairy Festival interpretive dance to The “Waltz of the Flowers” by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, complete with props!

A giant goat was raffled, which was generously donated by Manchester Lions Club. Emmie, one of our faithful Virtual Fairy Festival attendees, won the giant goat! Charlie and Lucy, who also watched faithfully, won a giant orca. Fairy Goody bags were also raffled off.

The super talented Stacey Murray Soul Songstress performed LIVE with a mini concert personalized just for Manchester and our fairy festival. Kathleen Noggle from Noggle Farms shared a fairy story with her sweet daughter Emerson. Emerson squealed with delight as her mom read to her about fairies.

The magnificent dancing Farmer Fairy, Laura Madden, shared some beautiful dance moves with her riding cow Wallace. All of the events provided lots of Fairy Fun to end our week!

These videos are all still available to watch on Manchester Michigan Farmers Market Facebook page.
