Obituary: Patricia Smith

Patricia A. Smith 3/13/1935-8/11/2020

Patricia Ann Smith, age 85 of Clinton, died Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at St Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital. She was born March 13, 1935 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Dewey Lee and Hazel (Wilson) Bowns. On April 6, 1957 she married Hurst Smith, Jr and he preceded her in death on January 7, 1993.

Patricia attended the Emanuel United Church of Christ in Manchester. She loved gardening, camping, watching sports and was an avid fan of the U of M. Her greatest love was attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.

Patricia is survived by her children, Michael (Kim) Smith of Tecumseh and Cindy (Mike) Martin of Southaven, MS; four grandchildren, Ashley (Nick) Nelson of Southaven, MS, Megan (Dan) Taratuta of Lowell, MI, Fallynne (Typaulya) Kelly of Southaven, MS and Courtney Smith Rickstad of Lowell, MI; beloved Maw Maw of seven great grandchildren, Taylor and Tenley Taratuta, Gates and Ellison Rickstad, Addisson and Mariah and Westton Nelson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three siblings.

Private burial will be at a later date in Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens in Tecumseh. Memorial contributions may be made to a Humane Society.
