Wilma Elaine Lentz (1931 – 2020)

Wilma Elaine Lentz, born on March 5, 1931, in Sharon Township, the youngest child of Hazel Sutton Alber and Fred Alber, passed on Monday, August 24, 2020.

On May 5, 1951, she married her high school sweetheart, Ambrose Lentz at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manchester.

Wilma was a member of St. Mary’s Church and the Raisin River Red Hatters. She served as the Manchester Township Clerk for many years, and also on the Board of Reviews. She was an honorary member of the Manchester Township Fire Department of which she was extremely proud. She enjoyed playing cards, dominos with her son Mark, and trips to the casinos. Wilma was very patriotic and loved anything Red, White, and Blue, hymns, and her little yellow car. Most of all she loved her very large family and God. She was the best Mom anyone could ask for.

Surviving her are six orphans:  Mark & Kathleen Lentz, Christopher Lentz, and Dawn, Kurt & Sherry Lentz, Nicolette & Richard Kennedy, Shannon Wehner, and baby Erin & Don Walter. Her grandkids, Marcie, Kyle, Ryan, Branden, Nicholas, Timothy, Beverly, Cheyanne, Lindsey, Ashley, Jarod, Katie, Cole, Clay and Beau! Also, many great grandchildren, one great, great grandson, and many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ambrose; granddaughter, Amanda Lynette Walter, and son-in-law, Ray Wehner; her brothers, Earl and Allen Alber; and sisters, Alice Alexander and Marjorie Bentschneider.

She was fun loving and always said, “I had a great ride on earth.” She will be sorely missed by her entire family and anyone who had the honor of knowing her.

Don’t be sad because she died. Be happy because she lived.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, August 28, 2020, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester (210 W. Main St). Reverend Father Bosco Padamattummal will officate. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 2PM-8PM with a 7PM Scripture service at Eineder Funeral Home – Manchester Chapel (207 E. Duncan St. Manchester, MI).

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of Lenawee, Dutchman Firefighters Association, or to St. Mary’s Church.

Due to the current Covid-19 government mandates, Face Masks and Social Distancing will be required. Visitation will be limited to 10 people at a time in the funeral home. Additionally, due to the social distancing, there is limited seating a St. Mary’s Church.
