WCSO report: July/August 2020 police activity in Village of Manchester

Village of Manchester report, as provided by the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office:

During the month of July 2020, there were 133 calls for service. During this time 38 traffic stops were made, resulting in six citations.

Noteworthy events in Manchester Village during the month of July include:

July 2 – Deputies responded to the 300 block of Woodview Place for a death investigation. The 77-year-old resident was located by his wife and appeared to have passed away from natural causes.

July 8 – Deputies responded to the 500 block of W. Main regarding a counterfeit investigation. Several $100 bills had been passed at a local business. When the money was deposited at a local bank it was discovered they were fraudulent. Currently there are no additional leads.

July 10 – Deputies handled a report of an identity fraud in the 100 block of Main St. Unknown person(s) applied for unemployment using the complainant’s social security number. There are no suspects identified in the case.

July 21 Deputies responded to the 200 Block of N. Washington to assist Ann Arbor Police Department by contacting a resident regarding a situation they were investigating.

July 21 – Deputies responded to the 100 block of Hibbard in an attempt to contact a 60-year-old resident who had spoken with a friend and indicated she had fallen but was unable to get up. Deputies were able to track down the resident, who was already at a local hospital seeking treatment.

July 23 – Deputies responded to the 100 block of Riverside Drive for a disorderly complaint. Contact was made with a 38-year-old Lake City man who was unable to leave the area under his own means. He was turned over to HVA to be transported for treatment.

July 24 – Deputies and Animal Control investigated a dog vs. dog incident in the 500 Block of E. Main Street. The report has been forwarded to the Washtenaw County Prosecutors office for review.

July 26 – While on routine patrol, a resident from 101 Hibbard was given a verbal warning regarding her dogs running loose in the complex.

During the month of August, there were 122 calls for service. During this time, 48 traffic stops were made, resulting in 15 citations issued.

Noteworthy events in Manchester Village during the month of August 2020 include:

August 3 – a collaboration Deputy responded to the 100 block of E. Madison for a report of damage to a building. It was discovered that unknown person(s) broke out a window at this location, sometime over the weekend. There are no suspect(s).

August 8 – the collaboration Deputies responded to the 100 block of E. Main for a disorderly person. Upon arriving in the area, they located a male on the roof of the building yelling incoherently. While engaging with the subject, he disappeared from their view. It was discovered the individual had fallen from the roof of the building. Aid was rendered and the subject was turned over to HVA for medical treatment.

August 8 – the collaboration Deputy investigated a dumping complaint in the 400 block of W. Main St. While on routine patrol, the Deputy noticed a subject unloading items from his vehicle into the dumpster at the old Manchester Market. Contact was made with the subject and it was determined he did not have permission to use this dumpster. The individual retrieved the items from the dumpster and took them with him.

August 13 – the collaboration Deputy investigated a dumping complaint in the 200 block of N. Macomb. The individual was contacted, who then went and retrieved the items that had been dumped.

August 15 – a Deputy was dispatched to the 600 block of E. Duncan. The complainant advised a vehicle was parked in a common area between 2 and 6:30 pm. The owner of the vehicle discovered the windshield of the vehicle had been damaged.

August 15 – a Deputy was dispatched to the 500 block of Granger for disorderly person. Contact was made with the homeowner and they were advised regarding being too loud.

August 16 – Deputies from the collaboration along with other western operations Deputies responded to a burglary in the 700 block of Hogan Rd. Upon arriving at the location Deputies discovered someone had broken into the facility. Through their investigation a potential suspect has been identified and follow up is being conducted. Deputies are currently waiting on results from the MSP lab, regarding evidence which has been submitted for analysis.

August 20 – a Deputy was dispatched to the 500 block of Granger St. for a noise complaint. Contact was made with the homeowner and they were advised about being too loud.
