Letter to the Editor: Selecting candidates
September 21, 2020
Dear Editor,
Why are you voting for candidate x over y? What do you like about one candidate over the other? What are your values for voting for any candidate? One service organization, Rotary, values these four: truthfulness, fairness for all, build goodwill and better friendships, beneficial for all. How does your candidate measure up on these? How do the present and potential elected people rate on these? Rate them on a scale of 0-5 for each value, 0 being low and 5 high. Add each one up for the individual position. Vote for the individual who has the highest score. If these values do not work for you, write your own down. Use them to evaluate the candidates you have to select from. If you do not know about someone do your homework. This election is more essential for our country compared to any other election I have participated in the past 60 years.
