Mary “Jane” Snyder Wahl, Dec. 27, 1944-May 22, 2020

Mary “Jane” Wahl (Snyder) of Apache Junction, AZ passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 22, 2020 after a 2-1/2 year battle with cancer. Born December 27, 1944 in Lima, Ohio, Jane moved to Manchester when she was 4, when her parents built and operated Snyder Grocery Store on Pleasant Lake.

It was while helping her parents operate the store that Jane met her husband of 56 years, Daniel Wahl of Grass Lake. Jane graduated from Manchester High School in 1962 and went on to work at Klager’s Hatchery in Bridgewater, Chrysler Proving Grounds in Chelsea, then the University of Michigan Hospitals for 28 years, where she retired at the age of 52. She then went on to be the Bridgewater Township treasurer for another six years and also worked for a few years with the Bridgewater Veterinary Clinic, just for fun. Jane was an avid reader and loved to travel with her husband. Her passion was garage sales, flea markets and antique stores! She loved to collect and display antique kitchen utensils. She was the happiest when she was just going on another adventure with Dan by her side.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents, L. Hershel & C. Mabel Snyder of Manchester and her sister Patsy (Jack) Evilsizer of Manchester. She is survived by her husband, Daniel Wahl of AZ, her son, Timothy Wahl of AZ, her daughter, Trisha (Nick) Rayer of Dexter, her grandsons, Mitch Rayer of Dexter and Jake Rayer of Fairbanks, AK. There will be a celebration of life gathering on October 17 at 11 am at 8971 W Textile Rd., Ann Arbor, 48103. Donations in Jane’s memory can be made to Hospice of The Valley, Phoenix AZ.
