WCSO: September 2020 police activity report in the village of Manchester

Village of Manchester report, as provided by the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office:

During the month of September, there were 113 calls for service. During this time, 39 traffic stops were made, resulting in 19 citations.

Noteworthy events in Manchester Village during the month of September include:

On September 6, a collaboration Deputy responded to 710 E. Main (Riverside Intermediate School) for a report of “BLM” written in sidewalk chalk on the rear drive of the school. No permanent damage was sustained from the chalk. The writing was removed by school maintenance shortly after the report was made.

On September 7, a collaboration Deputy responded to the 100 Block of Hibbard Street for a report of stolen political signs. The signs were reported stolen from the property between 8:30 pm the previous evening and 10 am on that morning. No suspects were identified.

On September 8, a collaboration Deputy was dispatched to the 100 Block of Hibbard for a report of fraud. The victim related that she was contacted by the suspect(s) that a mistake had taken place with her bank account and too much money was deposited into her account. The suspect(s) told her that they needed the money back, to which the victim reluctantly provided her account information. In the end, the victim was out $19,500 before realizing that this was a fraud. At this time, the suspect(s) are unknown.

Deputies also investigated five ordinance violations during September.
