Acorn Farmers’ Market & Café hires store manager

Kenny Frost, new manager at Acorn Farmers’ Market & Café
Kenny Frost has joined the Acorn Farmers’ Market & Café team as the first employee to help launch the new store.
Kenny grew up in Washtenaw County; gardening, hunting, and harvesting with the seasons. He began working in restaurants during high school, where he discovered a love of hospitality and quality food. He continued to cultivate his interests in cooking and local ingredients while earning his degree in English and Speech Communication, and discovered a particular love for rustic European fare and traditionally made spirits and wine.
Career opportunities led him to move to New York City in 2013. Though the reputation of the NYC dining scene cannot be overstated, the competition and pace was at odds with the collaborative, farm-to-table sensibilities of his youth. He had already been contemplating moving back to Michigan to get involved in the sustainable “locavorian” food movement when the pandemic began altering everyone’s lives and plans dramatically.
Living in Dexter and then Manchester for the past four months, Kenny was already becoming a regular at Acorn when the Store Manager position became available. He is now very happy to call both Manchester and Acorn “home.” Kenny is working closely with the Acorn Board of Directors to prepare for the move and full-time opening at 455 W. Main Street after the new year.
