The Christmas tree lot at Chi-Bro park is now officially empty! The Men’s Club sold 180 trees in eight days.
At closing time on Sunday night, their eighth day of business, the Manchester Men’s Club had only three trees left on the lot. They decided to open up one more time, on Monday from 5-8 pm.
And then they got a call from Emanuel Church, who needed trees for their nativity.
“We decided to donate those last three trees to the church,” said club president Andy Mahony.
And with that, the club set another new record this year–earliest ever to sell out. Their prior sell out record was 10 days.
“The support from our community has amazed us,” Mahony said. ‘It has reminded us of what we love about Manchester and why we do what we do. We also had quite a few people ‘pay it forward’ by purchasing the next person’s tree for them.”
In addition to selling out in record time, over the part week the club has received more than $500 in tips from buyers who wanted to support the club’s efforts further, and those donations will go toward next year’s fireworks display.
Merry Christmas and thank you from the Men’s Club.
