Obituary: Marion L. Moorhead

Marion L. Moorhead (January 21, 1925 – January 12, 2021)

Marion L. Moorhead, 95, of Jackson passed away at Highland Assisted Living, on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. A private graveside service took place at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West, Westland, Michigan.  A memorial service will be held at a later date at Eineder Funeral Homes – Brooklyn Chapel.

Marion was born on January 21, 1925, in Detroit, Michigan to Michael and Eleanor (McMeans) LaPaca. Marion married the love of her life, John Moorhead, on September 7, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan. She will be remembered as a strong woman who loved her girls and their families. Marion was a very active lady that enjoyed playing cards with her friends and the occasional friendly game of golf. In her earlier years, Marion, was quite the seamstress, making many things including her daughter’s clothes. Marion looked forward to the holidays, having her family all around her. She truly loved her faithful companion, Turbo. Marion’s family would like to thank Highland Assisted Living and Southern Care Hospice for their loving care and support through the final days; you were truly a blessing.

Marion is survived by her daughters, Nancy Sande and Jacqueline (Ken) Taylor; her grandchildren Kari and Alex Chase, Kami Taylor, Jayme (Zach) Smelser, Shayna Sande; her great grandchildren Taylor, Kelsey, Kennedy, Collin, Alex Lynn, Henley, Landon, Jacob and Leigha. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 35 years, John; and son-in-law James Sande.
