Just in time for winter fun! The Manchester District Library has snowshoes for loan.

Submitted by Quintessa Gallinat, Manchester District Library

Courtesy of The 5 Healthy Towns Foundation, Manchester District Library recently added snowshoes to its Special Checkouts collection. Library patrons can borrow snowshoes — available in both adult and youth sizes ― for one (1) week at no charge. Snowshoes are available for checkout from the MDL on a first-come, first served basis. To reserve a set of snowshoes for curbside pickup:

  • Call (734) 428-8045 during business hours to confirm availability; if available, your snowshoes can be ready for same-day pickup.

  • Email manchesterlibraryrequest@gmail.com; library staff will reply via email when a pair of snowshoes is ready for pickup.

  • Visit manchesterlibrary.info to place an online hold; when snowshoes are ready for pickup, notification will be sent via email, text, or phone by the automated TLN system.

The “Stuff and Things You May Need” Special Checkouts collection also includes wireless hot spots, ukuleles, games, kitchen appliances, and more. Additional information about this collection is available at manchesterlibrary.info/stuff–things-you-may-need-special-checkout-collection.html.

Current business hours for the Manchester District Library are Monday-Friday 11 am-5 pm and Saturday 10 am-2 pm. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the MDL building remains closed to the public; however, most services — including hold pickups, personalized selections, grab-and-go bundles, small print / fax jobs, and tax forms — are available via curbside service and contact-less pickup from the front vestibule. Find details and the latest updates at manchesterlibrary.info/covid-19-service-updates.html.
