Mr. Ball at Manchester High School’s 2021 graduation

submitted by Jeanine Castillo-Miller

It’s the last day of school for Mr Ball Who thirty three years ago Answered the call To teach any student, willing or not The fine art of trying, learning and thought

That he should guide students And show them their worth Was ordained long ago Before even his birth

He was kind and engaging From the start it was clear From the quick to the struggling He held them all dear

Failure was no option Some thought it a ruse He showed acute angles Even to the obtuse

No question ignored Both straight and direct Right and isosceles Kids efforts he’d check

He would lead minds to knowledge And teach them priorities For thirty three years Until reaching seniority….

Mr Ball’s patient message About angles and shapes Would reach any student -even the flakes!

His efforts were fruitful Both loving and kind He’s up for sainthood This year was a grind!

His value unmatched His smile full of hope Mr Ball found his place He would help students cope With learning geometry Beginning each fall What else could he do With a last name like Ball?

We’re sure gonna miss you Mr Ball!
