The Farm to Table Dinner held at Alber Orchard in Manchester in 2018 was a great success thanks to community support!

What’s better than delicious local food, prepared by local chefs, on a beautiful summer night, with 150 of your favorite foodie friends?

We can’t think of anything better than a Fabulous Local Feast!

This year’s event will be held on Sunday, August 29 from 4-7 pm in downtown Grass Lake, and helping to celebrate Grass Lake’s 150th birthday!

This year, the 5 Healthy Towns coalitions are spreading out in the open air space of Grass Lake’s park and pavilion. Local chefs — from Smokehouse 52Jolly PumpkinSilver MaplesRoaming GoatKitchen LittleChelsea Alehouse, and Chef Savur/Chelsea Burger (and Common Grill rolls!) — will prepare a delicious summer feast using local products from the 5H Farmers Markets! Jolly Pumpkin will supply the beer, and Lone Oak Vineyard Estate the wine! There will also be a Virtual Auction* with a LIVE Finale featuring a showcase of services, gift certificates, products, gift baskets, and more! (Access and follow the virtual auction here.)

The menu will be finalized as the summer Farmers’ Market season progresses and will be dependent on donations from local growers. Both meat and vegetarian options will be available to choose from. Tickets are $75 per person and refundable before July 29. Tickets are also transferable up to seven days in advance of the event.

The Farm to Table dinner benefits the Farmers’ Markets in all five of the Healthy Towns. The host town receives a larger share of the funds raised, and the remainder is divided between the other four communities. So, even with this year’s dinner being held in Grass Lake, your participation will help Manchester as well!

Volunteers are needed for the week leading up to the event. Sign up here if you are able to help in any way! We can’t do it without you, so please help out if you can.

Event sponsors to date include 5 Healthy Towns Foundation, Tecumseh Tent, Silver Maples of Chelsea Retirement Neighborhood, Chelsea State Bank, Dexter Wellness Coalition, Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists, The Cedars of Dexter, Rankin Audiology & Hearing, Art Moehn Auto Group, Rotary Club of Dexter, Dexter Family Dentistry, and Agricole Farm Stop.
