Emanuel to host Ice Cream Social Aug. 5

One of summer’s great traditions in Manchester are the many church ice cream social events that occur every few weeks and provide an opportunity to gather with neighbors and friends over a meal with delicious desserts.

This year, following many pandemic cancelations in 2020, the community has welcomed back ice cream social events at Sharon United Methodist and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The next and last for this summer will be held on August 5 at Emanuel UCC!

The menu includes BBQ or hot chicken sandwich, hot dogs, macaroni & cheese, German or American potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, chips, watermelon cups, and drinks. And — of course — there will be ice cream and cake. Try your favorite dish or try them all. It’s all delicious.

Serving will be from 4:30-7 pm at 324 W. Main Street. Eat on the church lawn or take your meal to the park.

So come one, come all! This will be the last ice cream social of the season, so don’t miss out.
