Christmas decorating contest to offer big prizes!

Manchester’s Holiday Lighting Contest is growing for 2021!

Registration has already begin for this big event, which is designed to reward residents who help transform the Manchester community to a “winter wonderland!”

Those who go above and beyond the decorating norm for the holiday season have a chance to win a $500 grand prize, sponsored by River Raisin Distillery, and there will also be a $100 award for the “Facebook Favorite” decorated home.

Pre-registration is required by going to https://bit.ly/2021ManchesterLightContest, and participation is open to all within a three-mile radius of downtown Manchester! Registration continues through November 26, and judging will be done on December 3 from 6-10 pm. The Facebook Favorite will be announced at 7 pm on December 4. Each resident is allowed one vote for each location.

The contest includes exterior decorations only, and will be done from a street view (corner lots will be judged from both streets). The contest also includes window decorations that are visible from the street side of the house. Criteria for the judging will include design and creative use of lighting; theme; placement of decorations and animated objects; and overall presentation.

A list of entrants and their addresses will be posted on the Christmas in the Village Facebook page. All participants will send a photo(s) to the Christmas in the Village Facebook page for posting.

Winners will be announced on the Manchester Area Chamber of Commerce website (48158.com) on December 5, 2021.
