Friday December 3rd
Residential Lighting Contest goes live for voting
Where: Residences in the Manchester area
Description: Find the list and map of the 13 participating residences at https://bit.ly/2021ManchesterLightingEntries and vote for the community favorite at https://www.facebook.com/manchestermichristmas. Voting will be open through Saturday. $100 Prize to the House with the most votes! Winners will be announced Dec. 5th.
Festival of Trees
Where: Riverside park
When: Enjoy these trees anytime through December 26th
Description: Admire the decorated Christmas trees in Riverside Park. Trees decorated by the following local organizations and non-profits: Manchester Area Girl Scouts, Manchester District Library, GF Wilbur Plumbing, SRSLY Manchester, and Acorn Farmers Market.
Fill a Bag Book Sale
Where: Village Room (lower level), Manchester District Library – 912 City Road
When: 11am – 6pm
Description: The Friends of the Manchester District Library will be holding a Fill a Bag sale during Christmas in the Village. This is a great place for kids to find presents for their loved ones as there will be volunteers on hand to help them shop. Prices for most books: One bag for $3.00 or 2 for $5.00. Books can also be purchased individually. All proceeds benefit library programs.
Manchester Lighted Parade
Where: Starts at Emanuel United Church of Christ – 324 W Main St, and ends at Manchester Mill-201 E Main
When: 6:30pm
Description: Don your lights, glow sticks and Christmas cheer. Come enjoy the lighted vehicles, animals, floats and walkers as we kick off Christmas in the Village.
Hot Cocoa station at the Mill
Where: Manchester Mill – 201 E Main
When: 6:30pm
Description: Manchester Girl Scouts serve up free Hot Cocoa
Village Christmas Tree Lighting
Where: Manchester Mill porch – 201 E Main
When: 6:45pm
Description: Join the Village President and Santa for the lighting of the Village Christmas Tree.
Santa Pictures & Treats at the Mill
Where: Manchester Mill – 201 E Main
When: 7:00pm, after the tree lighting
Description: Opportunity to visit with and receive a free photo with Santa
Saturday, December 4th
Festival of Trees Contest
Where: Riverside park
When: Vote anytime on Saturday until 4pm
Description: Vote for your favorite decorated tree by placing dry goods in the donation boxes next to the tree. All donations will go to the Manchester Community Resource Center. Group whose tree has the most donations next to it wins a prize.
Craft/Vendor Shows:
- Emanuel United Church of Christ
Where: 324 W Main St
When: 9am-3pm
Description: Bake sales, craft & vendor show. Lunch will be served from 11-2, including ham salad sliders with lettuce, pulled pork sliders, cheesy potato soup with cornbread, and apple crisp.
- Manchester United Methodist Church
Where: 501 Ann Arbor St,
When: 9am-3pm
Description: In addition to the craft show, the church will be hosting A New Kind of Cookie Walk (in conjunction with St. Mary, Manchester) from 9am to noon, a sloppy Joe lunch from 11am to 1pm with proceeds going to Youth Group Mission Trips, and MUMC United Methodist Women’s Forgotten Christmas Rummage Sale from 9am – 3pm with proceeds going to the Manchester Area Senior Citizens & Community Resource Center.
- Sharon United Methodist Church
Where: 19980 W Pleasant Lake Rd
When: 9am-3pm
Description: 25+ vendors who will be offering a huge variety of homemade and handmade goods.
- St Thomas Lutheran Church
Where: Freedom Town Hall, 11508 E Pleasant Lake Rd
When: 9am-2pm
Description: In addition to their vendors/craft show they will be holding their annual German bake sale featuring authentic German baked goods, homemade pretzels and a huge cookie walk with 20+ varieties of cookies. They will also host a luncheon from 11-2 pm serving sloppy joes and ham and cheese pretzel bun sandwiches.

Where: Throughout the Village of Manchester

Kids’ Corner
Where: Sharon Valley Bicycle Shoppe – 108 E Main St
When: 10am-2pm
Description: A place for kids to come make a Christmas craft and play games for sweet prizes. All ages welcome.
Cookie Decorating
Where: Sweet Leilani’s Desserts – 115 E Main St
When: 10am-2pm
Description: Kids can turn sugar into art by decorating cookies.
Manchester Area Historical Society Museum Open House
Where: Kingsley-Jenter House – 302 E. Main
When: 10am-3pm
Description: The museum will be open including the gift shop with various historic and hand-crafted items, and specialized tables such as local artist Nancy Feldkamp and her paintings. There will also be an artifact sale and demonstrations.
Manchester Blacksmith Shop Open House
Where: Manchester Area Historical Society Blacksmith Shop – 324 E. Main
When: 10am-3pm
Description: Demonstrations of blacksmith techniques and historic weaving on a 19th century loom. Visitors will be able to participate in simple tasks with the blacksmiths.
Manchester Christmas in the Village Scavenger Hunt
Where: Starts at Old National Bank – 111 E. Main St.
When: 10am-4pm
Description: The Manchester Christmas Star is missing. It has gone on an adventure around town! Follow on foot this crazy star’s village adventure for some silly fun and a chance to win a prize.
Visit with Santa
Where: Manchester Mill – 201 E Main
When: 11am-1pm
Description: Come visit with Santa on the Mill porch and get your 2021 Santa selfie.

Cocktails & Canvases
Where: River Raisin Distillery – 480 W Main St
When: 1pm and 4pm pre-registration required
Description: Come enjoy a cocktail & learn the art of acrylic paint pouring with D&D art gallery! Tickets are available online through Eventbrite or they can be purchased in person at the distillery. Adrian Bethel AME Church Choir Worship & Praise Concert

Description: Sponsored by the MUMC United Methodist Women
Co-Op Preschool Chili Cook Off and Auction
Where: St. Mary’s Parish Center – 108 Madison St
When: Chili tasting at 5pm-6pm, Live auction begins at 7pm
Description: Fundraising event for Manchester Co-Op Preschool. Includes a chili cook-off contest (tasting is free!), silent and live auction, and a 50/50 raffle.
