The little town that could.

“The Little Engine that Could” is the welcome book to any child who joins the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Just like the little engine who didn’t give up when met with a big challenge, our Community has helped keep this program alive for the children of Manchester through this challenging time for fundraising.

I would like to thank the individuals this spring who answered the call for support through a couple Facebook posts, through online donations, and a couple of checks sent in we made it to summer time. Then came our local sponsors who keep us running, The Manchester Men’s Club, C A Brown Contracting, and our sponsor and cheerleader The Manchester District Library; without them our program, like many other small affiliates, would have disappeared. This is an important program for our children as it puts books in the hands of children at no cost to the families.

There are few requirements to be a part of the program. The child has to live within the zip code 48158, be between birth and age 5 and have an adult sign them up. You can sign your child up online, or through the mail. Also the front desk of the Library will collect your registration paper and get it back to Shannon to get them enrolled.

You can find out more information about this program by going to https://imaginationlibrary.com/. To sign up, click on the check availability link. You can also stop in to the Library or email Shannon Brown at smqueirolo@yahoo.com

Thank you to our community and our sponsors. Wishing you all an amazing New Year!

Shannon Brown
Coordinator for Manchester’s Dolly Parton Imagination Library
