Hello to our neighbors and friends!

The Clinton Library welcomed the New Year with all the energy and enthusiasm you’ve come to expect from our staff. A highlight of January was our Stuffed Animal Sleepover, which was a huge success on many levels. The children had fun listening to stories on Friday before tucking their furry friends in for a night spent in the library. And the teens had a blast supervising the mayhem that followed after the library closed. Stuffies, with their teen buddies, played games, danced ‘til dawn (the Chicken Dance, naturally), researched all kinds of things on the computers, played on the parachute, and of course, read lots of stories. There might have been a little … or a lot … of pizza eaten. And, as you might expect during a sleepover, a few critters got into some silly mischief. Everyone involved can’t wait for the next time!

February is guaranteed to be just as fun-packed as January, so be sure to stop in! All activities are free and do not require a library card to participate. Following are some highlights:

  • Sensory Tuesday. Feb. 1 at 11:30. Be prepared to get messy at this interactive, hands-on event for preschoolers with music, crafts, and sensory play.
  • Writing Club. Feb. 4 at 4 pm. Calling all writers! Are you looking for a writing group to inspire you, hold you accountable, or just chat about all the ins and outs (and ups and downs) of writing? Join us! Recommended for teens and adults.
  • STEM Olympics. Feb. 8 at 4 pm. Do you have what it takes to GO FOR THE GOLD? Come to the library for fun Olympic-themed STEM activities!
