It is often a time of mixed emotions when someone departs from a position, especially one that they specifically created. And so it is with the announcement this weekend that Kenny Frost will be leaving Acorn Farmers’ Market & Café for a new path (while still, we hope, remaining in the Manchester area!).

If you have shopped at Acorn, even once, you have seen Kenny. His omnipresent attendance at the store was almost legendary.

“Kenny Frost arrived as a perfect answer to the version of Acorn Farmers’ Market and Café that we were getting up and running,” said Board Chair, Theresa Herron. “We had visions of how it might look, but needed a person that could bring those visions to life. Kenny put so much time into getting the new location set up and integrated into the new Manchester Market, and we will always be in debt to him for his efforts.”

During the (very) long months of construction last year — day, night, and most hours in between, you could find Kenny somewhere between his downtown apartment, the old Acorn site and the current site … throwing in the Manchester Diner as an occasional stopping point for energy renewal. His brain was continually focused on the next good thing that was happening at the new site and his incredible vision for the store came to fruition in September 2021 when they finally opened.

Herron concluded, “We are proud of the store we are becoming, and proud of Kenny for everything he has accomplished in the time he has been with us. We look forward to seeing where he goes next, and what projects he tackles with energy and verve (because we believe “energy” may just be Kenny’s middle name.)”
