WCPRC presents Freedom in Rural Michigan on Sharon Hollow and Watkins Farm
Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission will be hosting a presentation in celebration of Black History Month: Freedom in Rural Michigan on Sharon Hollow and Watkins Farm on Thursday, February 24, at 6:30 pm over zoom. Join the webinar at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84745125282
Carol Mull, the historian who worked to get Watkins Lake State Park and County Preserve recognized as a Network to Freedom site through the National Park Service in 2020 for its connection to the Underground Railroad, will lead this presentation with a focus on two important Manchester area locations in the fight for freedom. She will highlight these two stories and their connection to Sharon Mills County Park and Watkins Lake State Park and County Preserve.
