In the Varsity Dutchmen’s only game of the week last Thursday, they brought in a 66-57 victory over Springport in the regular season-ending crossover game.

“We started off the game slowly, down 10-0 in the first two minutes,” said coach Zach Neal. “But we battled back and outscored Springport 66-47 the rest of the way. This was our most complete win of the season.”

Neal was proud of the bench contributions from Tyler Lutton, Jacob Smith, and Anthony Bargardi that he said were “key” to the Dutch winning the game. But offensively, the Dutch were led by Aiden Kelly (28 points and 14 rebounds) and Jaxon McGuigan (23 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 blocks). Good team free throw shooting in the fourth quarter sealed the game.

On Monday, the Dutchmen will travel to Columbia Central to face Addison in the first district game at 7 pm.
