Elva Lee Heslip December 22, 1928-April 4, 2022

Elva Lee Heslip, 93, of Manchester, passed away peacefully Monday, April 4, 2022. Elva’s family will hold a private graveside service.

Elva was born on December 22, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan to Scott and Ida (Brown) Cannon. Elva married the love of her life, James Heslip, on September 2, 1950 in Angola, Indiana. She will be remembered as a committed family matriarch who loved her family dearly.

Elva graduated from Northville High School, class of 1946. She became a homemaker, devoting her life to her family. Elva loved to decorate, especially interior design. She was a member of Manchester United Methodist Church where she enjoyed going to bible study. Elva was a generous woman who gave to those in need.

Elva is survived by her children, Jennifer (Gerald) Miller of Manchester; Daniel (Maureen) Heslip of Manchester; Michelle (Lee) Smith of Montana and daughter-in- law Shelley (Roller-Heslip) Garrot; sister Gail (Julian) Woodall, brother-in-law Larry Rowley; grandchildren; Damian (Sandra Wiitala-DuRussel) DuRussel, Charles (Amy) DuRussel, Heather (Keith) Jones, Sean (Jade Fukuda-Heslip) Heslip, William (Yazmin Roncal-Heslip) Heslip, James (Mica Kole-Heslip)Heslip, Elizabeth Smith (Pat Lucha) and Dr. Olivia Smith (Joseph Taylor); many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; and sons, Charles and David.
