Acorn’s Vendor of the Week: Clever Creations by Amy

Clever Creations by Amy will present a fun Easter Bunny crate project at Acorn Farmers’ Market & Café on Saturday from 10:30-11:30 am!

Clever Creations by Amy are one of a kind clay creations like Uniquely Michigan Fairy Doors, Gnomes, and Fairy Garden Accessories designed and sculpted by Amy.

Amy’s Story:

“I was transplanted to Ypsilanti over 25 years ago and now have only Y+ blood running through my veins. I attended EMU and my degree in Graphic Design and Marketing launched my creative genius into a deep love affair with all things art related.

I began my “Clever Creations” business way back when to help pay for college. The business has evolved to include dragon eggs, whimsical fairy garden doors and accessories, some featuring favorite literary themes. I recently started creating Michigan shaped doors featuring Petoskey stone, native copper and Lake Superior agates.

I only use Sculpey clay; I love the gorgeous colors and how they can be mixed to create other hues. The pieces are all hand sculpted, and include patterns and mica powders (think the world’s finest glitter) and covered with an outdoor safe glaze.

Each piece is baked with metal stakes in the bottom to ensure it stays where you place it. The pieces can be left out year round, but is recommended to come in for the unpredictable winters here in Michigan.

I love to spend my days creating pretty things, whether on the computer, in my garden or with clay. I live with my brilliant husband Bill, handsome son Liam, and pug mix puppy Brutus.”

And just so you can know Amy even better, we’ll end the week with Meet the Creator: Clever Creations by Amy on Saturday, April 16! From 10:30-11:30 am, Clever Creations by Amy will host a darling mini Fairy Farm Garden complete with miniature veggies, baby chicks, cabbage and a Bunny Butt in a cute little crate. We’ll work with polymer clay, moss, foam, and a miniature crate to create our masterpieces. All materials will be supplied, just bring your creativity! $20 each for ages 5+
