Submitted by Washtenaw County Road Comission

The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) is continuing work in two areas of Southwestern Washtenaw County where there will be road closures over the coming weeks. Residents in those neighborhoods should be prepared to consider alternate routes.

In Sharon Township, Pleasant Lake Road between Sharon Hollow Rd and Smythe Rd will be the site of a road resurfacing project starting Monday, April 18. The work is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions. Completion date is scheduled for approximately April 29.

The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to lane closures. WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route if possible. If you have any questions, please contact Mike Bernbeck, project manager, (734) 327-6654, or via email at bernbeckm@wcroads.org.

In Bridgewater Township, on Tuesday, April 5, the WCRC closed Arkona Rd between US-12 and Abel Rd in Bridgewater and Saline Townships due to a failed crossroad culvert. The road is closed to all through traffic until further notice. WCRC will maintain access only for residents and property owners who live, work, or own property within the closure limits, but NO traffic will be able to travel over the culvert.

If you have any questions concerning this work, please contact Ken Harris, superintendent of maintenance, (734) 327-6696, or harrisk@wcroads.org.
