Breeda Miller says if you see her walking around town and talking to herself, please don’t call and report her to the authorities. She’s just rehearsing her lines.

“Mrs. Kelly’s Journey Home,” Miller’s one-woman show detailing her family’s history from its origins in Ireland to her time of caregiving during her mom’s final years, will make its Manchester premiere on Saturday afternoon, May 7, at 2:30pm at the MHS auditorium. The performance will be a fund-raiser for Acorn Farmers’ Market & Café, and tickets can still be purchased at Eventbrite and will also be available at the door.

This event, filled with laughs, tears, and lots of tea, will be a great Mother’s Day weekend activity to enjoy by yourself or with friends and family. “Mrs. Kelly’s Journey Home” is advertised as “a moving, joyous exploration of love, roots, and family.” A VIP ticket ($50) includes a $20 gift card to Acorn as well as an apple pie reception with Breeda following the show. A regular general admission ticket is just $20 and all proceeds benefit our great local farmers’ market store, a cause which is near and dear to Breeda’s heart.

Miller hinted that following the “Michigan tour,“ which begins with Saturday’s Manchester performance, there are also conversations happening about taking the show even farther on the road — to Indiana, Virginia, Florida, California, and even Ireland! The excitement she is generating is palpable. Who knows where this adventure may take Mrs. Kelly — and her daughter — next?
