Joe Weinhart, November 25, 1942 – May 7, 2022

Peter “Joe” Weinhardt, 79, of Manchester, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on May 7, 2022. Joe’s family held a private viewing and service at Eineder Funeral Homes-Manchester Chapel.

Joe was born on November 25, 1942, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to William and Jessie (Darling) Weinhardt. Joe married Nancy (Terwilliger) on April 10, 1971 in Manchester. Nancy preceded him in death in 2003.

Joe was born and raised in Manchester and graduated from Manchester High School, class of 1963. He retired from General Motors after 27 years as a foreman. He belonged to UAW Local 775. Joe loved the Village of Manchester and one of his favorite things was to walk around downtown and visit. He was happiest socializing and reminiscing. If you gave him 10 minutes of your time, the next thing you knew an hour had passed by. Joe was an avid car lover; he enjoyed going to car shows, taking photos and turning them into “brag books.” Joe loved reading books and taking facts to create booklets for his family and friends. He loved watching game shows, westerns and court tv, playing
games on his iPad and Saturday dinners with his family. He also spent his time reading newspapers and would cut out articles for people that he knew they would find interesting. Joe was a beloved member of Manchester United Methodist Church, and loved his church family. His smile was infectious, and his laugh was one of a kind. If you ever met Joe once you would never forget him.

Joe will be deeply missed by his children, Carol Weinhardt of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Lillian (Roy) Ebersole of Manchester, Leland (Nicole) Weinhardt of Southgate; brother John (Carol) Weinhardt; grandchildren, Joe Minick and Shawna Greschner; great grandchild Braydin Greschner; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nancy, and son Edward “Jim” Weinhardt. Please leave a message of comfort for Joe’s family or sign his guestbook at www.EinederFuneralHomes.com.
