Gerald Thomas Kripas, 84, formerly of Manchester, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side, Saturday, June 11, 2022. Jerry’s family and friends will gather Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 4pm – 8pm with a 7:30pm Rosary at Eineder Funeral Homes – Manchester Chapel. His funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 10am – 11am with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Interment to follow at St. Mary Roman Catholic Cemetery. Fr. David Stawasz will serve as celebrant.
He was born on June 11, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan to Benjamin and Adeline (Waligorski) Kripas. Jerry married the love of his life, the late Elizabeth “Betsy” Kornbacher, on April 28, 1962, in Dearborn, Michigan. Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus and an usher for St. Mary Roman Catholic Church before moving to Dansville. Jerry retired from GM after 34 years of service. He enjoyed tending his garden and canning, especially sauerkraut and bread and butter pickles. Jerry was an avid coin collector. After retirement, he devoted his time caring for his wife. True to form for Jerry, he waited to spend his birthday in heaven with his family and friends. The ultimate birthday wish of meeting his savior. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his granddog “Dottie” who he adored, and spoiled with cookies.
Jerry is survived by his loving son, Charles (Voni) Kripas of Dansville; siblings, Janet (John) Holmberg and Robert Kripas; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 55 years, Elizabeth “Betsy” Kripas.
Memorial contributions may be given to family for future designation. Please leave a message of comfort for Jerry’s family or sign his guestbook at www.EinederFuneralHomes.com.
