Summer brings the tradition of ice cream socials at area churches. Sharon United Methodist Church at the corner of M-52 and Pleasant Lake Rd will kick off the season on June 29, 4:30pm– 6:30pm. They invite you to “Drive-Thru” or “Drive-Thru and Park and Eat.” You will have a choice of hot ham and cheese on a pretzel bun or a sloppy joe for $4, or an all-beef hot dog for $3. You will also have a choice of several sides for $1 each (potato salad, chips, baked beans, coleslaw, and cake). Ice cream will be $2. Kids’ meals are available for $6.

Other area church ice cream socials will be July 14, Bethel United Church of Christ; July 28, St. Mary’s Catholic Church; and August 4, Emanuel United Church of Christ.
