Coming to the Manchester Gazebo Thursday, July 7, at 7:30pm: the ROYAL GARDEN TRIO (RGT), performing musical standards and swing from the ‘30s with a dash of Dixieland, Gypsy Jazz, and more in the mix. The RGT has been together since 2001, and have performed throughout the Midwest and maintain a loyal following. They have performed at venues ranging from Blissfest to the Detroit Institute of Arts.

The musicians include Brian Delaney on jazz guitar. When Brian plays his legendary 7-string archtop, you’ll hear strains of Django Reinhardt and Eddie Lang, but he also has his own unique sound. His solos are textbook. Tom Bogardus handles the clarinet and tenor guitar with masterful licks. One might hear strains of Benny Goodman, and Tom also composes his own original compositions. Mike Karoub on cello gives a unique sound to the trio. He can make the instrument purr or blast out hot jazz licks. Together, the Trio will have your fingers snapping or bring a tear to your eye.

The RGT, in their 21st year, makes a unique offering to the Gazebo concerts. You can sit back and hear the flavors comparable to a vintage wine, and then the jazzy belt of a shot of rye. With the RGT, the Hot Club of France meets the great American nightclub. CDs will be available at the concert. Bring your coolers and lawn chairs for a memorable evening. And — the show will go on, rain or shine. Emanuel Church gym is the rain location for all gazebo concerts!

As always, this performance is free and open to the public, but a freewill donation basket will be passed during the intermission of the concert. Your generous support is appreciated! Riverfolk Music & Arts Organization also gratefully acknowledges Michigan Humanities for their grant funding for the 2022 program year.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
