Clinton Township Public Library visitors are experiencing a tidal wave of activities this summer!

Did you know that Summer Reading programs aren’t just for kids … or avid readers … or library cardholders? Yes, you’ve heard that right. Summer Reading is for EVERYONE. This annual program provides thrilling events, fun challenges, and engaging activities for ALL ages to help individuals build or retain skills, explore new interests, and forge new connections within our community. To that end, Clinton Township Public Library’s July calendar is overflowing with activities, and you won’t want to miss out on any of them.

There are so many events, we couldn’t possibly list them all. Please check our Events page (https://www.clintontownshiplibrary.org/events) or Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/CTPL.Lenawee) for a full list. Here are a few highlights:

  • Storytimes with Animals: 11:30am every Tuesday through July 19. Recommended for animal lovers of all ages. Each week, themed storytimes will be followed by a visit from a different animal.
  • T(w)een time: 2pm Wednesdays through July 20. Recommended for students entering 6th–12th grades. Features a different planned activity or craft each week.
  • Storytime: 11:30am every Thursday. Enjoy songs, finger play, stories, and other activities. Recommended for ages birth through 5 years.
  • Thrilling Thursdays: 2pm every Thursday through July 21. Features a different STREAM-related activity each week (STREAM = Science, Technology, Reading, Art, and Math). Funding for Thrilling Thursday is provided in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library of Michigan.
  • Edible Crafts: 4pm, July 18. Have fun making a yummy ocean-themed craft! Recommended for ages 3 through 17.
  • Paint & Pour (Tea): Enjoy some refreshing tea while you create your very own paint-pouring masterpiece. Please note: Registration is REQUIRED for this event. Offered two different days/times for your convenience (July 19 and 22). Recommended for ages: 13+. See our Events calendar or call the library to register.
  • Finale carnival: 11am–2pm, July 23. We’re wrapping up our Summer Reading with a bang! Come for free circus-themed games and activities!

That’s just a few of the great things we have going on this month. So come in and join the fun! The Clinton Library staff is thrilled to help you explore the “oceans of possibilities” that are available at your public library this summer!

In addition to using the Manchester District Library, Manchester and Bridgewater Township residents can get a library card for free to check out materials from the Clinton Township Public Library. Additionally, Manchester and Bridgewater residents are welcome to attend all library events at the Clinton Township Public Library.
