Run Manchester, which began east of the Main Street/M-52 intersection in 2021, will follow the same routes this year for its 5K, 10K, 10-mile, and half-marathon events … as well as the Kids’ Fun Run! Participation from the community will be appreciated, as always!

The FIRST® Robotics Teams of Manchester Junior and Senior High School worked hard to expand the Run Manchester event, which was a great success last year. Run Manchester will be held this year on Saturday, August 6, starting at 8am. You can register to walk or run in any of the day’s events — the 5K, 10K, 10-mile, or half-marathon — at https://runsignup.com/runmanchester.

The 5K, 10K, 10-mile, and half-marathon will begin at 8am. The free Kids’ Fun Run will take place at 9:45am. Registration for the Kids’ Fun Run is encouraged, but not required. Donations are appreciated!

Online registration price for each race is as follows:

5K: $30
10K: $35
10-mile: $40
Half-marathon: $45
Kids’ Fun Run: Free!

For those under the age of 18, registration for any race is just $25. A race T-shirt is guaranteed for racers who sign up before July 24. Online registration will close at noon on Wednesday, August 3.

In-person registration will be available at the Wurster Park Gazebo on Friday, August 5, from 5pm to 8pm, and on the morning of the race beginning at 6:30am. Runners who wish to sign up in person will be charged an additional $5 fee.

All proceeds from the event go to supporting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) through the Manchester Community Schools’ FIRST® Robotics Teams. The teams and families are currently working on developing a dedicated robotics space at the Ackerson building.

The FIRST® Robotics Teams of Manchester would like to thank all of the participants, volunteers, donors, and sponsors of Run Manchester. We couldn’t do this race without you! (A full sponsor list will be posted with the race results as a few more are trickling in just in time to be included on the race shirt.)

We look forward to this community event, and we hope to see you there.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
