Manchester natives Vic and Susan Mann, along with daughter Stacy Sheets and son-in-law Eric Sheets, are getting ready to hold the second annual River Rhythm Music and Arts Festival the evening of Friday, August 5, through the morning of Sunday, August 7. Taking place alongside the gorgeous River Raisin in Manchester, this family-friendly event will once again provide an impressive line-up of Michigan- and Nashville-based live music artists, onsite food vendors/trucks(s), local artist vendors, yoga, and all-weekend camping.

The Friday evening music line-up includes Garabilly & Jen, Maybe It’s Sarah, and Creature of One. The Saturday line-up includes Andy Baker, Annie and Rod Capps Quartet, Billy King & The Garden Tour Band, Hannah Rose Graves, Loren Johnson, Jordan Hamilton, and The Gasoline Gypsies. Young People of Grace will perform Sunday morning for “Praise Hour.”

The festival features a stage with professionally run sound and lights. Although the event has some of the features of a larger music festival, organizers have capped attendance at 300 and have worked to keep the event a small, hometown event, and are only promoting locally within the community.

Stacy Sheets explained how the festival came about. She stated, “Our family has loved this river property for 16 years. We’ve enjoyed working on the land, spending time here with family and friends.” Three years ago a close friend of theirs passed away much too young. She continued, “After his funeral, a group of our friends gathered at the river for the weekend; we reminisced, laughed, cried, listened to music, and celebrated his life. We discussed how life is too short and best spent with those we enjoy most, doing things that make us happy. That weekend, a seed was planted to have a music festival–type gathering at the river to bring music to our community of family and friends.”

The organizers, along with many friends and family, would like to welcome you to the second annual River Rhythm Music and Arts Festival for a donation of $65/adult for the weekend and $10 for children under the age of 16. Sheets concluded, “We hope to see you at River Rhythm this year!“
